10 Things to Know Before Having Your Car Repaired
As a general service to the public, we offer a list of things to
keep in mind if your car needs work:
- Your car is most
likely the second largest investment that you will make. Preserve the
value of that investment, and your own safety by having it repaired
professionally.
- Never drive a car
that might be unsafe because of damages.
- Some insurance
companies might ask you to visit their drive-in claims center before
having your car repaired. You can do this, or you can have them inspect
the car at our facilities.
- You are not required
by law to obtain more than one estimate or appraisal.
- You have the right
to have your car repaired at any auto body shop that you choose. Your
insurance company can not require you to go to a specific shop.
- Differences in
estimates are common. A lower estimate might not include all the work
that may be necessary. If you're not sure why one estimate is different
from another, please ask us.
- Choose a shop that
has unibody repair equipment and certified (by I=CAR or ASE, for example)
technicians.
- Ask if the shop
will be using genuine manufacturer (OEM) replacement parts.
- Ask if the shop
offers a warranty on their repairs.
- Let us help you
negotiate your claim with your insurance company.
